Hey, neighbor! It’s Sean from LOCAL Bug Guy!

You’re probably here because you’ve got roaches. Yikes. They’re gross, ugly, and carry disease, so you need those gone fast. If you’re wondering what pest control company is the best for handling cockroaches, I’ll answer it here and make it quick.

If you live near Springville, Utah, or Menifee, California areas, LOCAL Bug Guy can make your home free and clean from pesky roaches with one of our friendly, fast pest control techs. Contact us below for a fast quote free of charge.

Which company is best for cockroaches?

The best pest control company for cockroaches is whoever will fit your budget, operates near you, and has excellent reviews.

The truth is that any pest control company worth a darn should be able to handle cockroaches. So it’s up to you to do just a smidge of homework to find who’s best for you. Don’t worry, it’s easy. Here’s what we recommend.

When you Google pest control companies near you, take a good look at their reviews. Just because they’re a big name doesn’t mean they’ll give you better service than small companies and family-owned businesses. Oftentimes, with major pest control companies, their quality of service will change depending on the branch.

Once you’ve found three or four companies that look good, check their website to see if they offer services for cockroaches. If they do, contact them for a free quote. They’ll probably ask you questions about the size of your property and how bad your roach problem is. Once they have what they need, they’ll give you a price of how much they can handle it for.

Once you’ve got three or four quotes, pick whichever one feels like the best value for the price. For many customers between California and Utah, LOCAL Bug Guy has been that company. Cockroaches hate to see us coming.

Can I handle cockroaches myself?

If you’d rather handle the roaches yourself, it can be done. But it is tough and it takes a lot of work. If you’re up for the challenge, here’s what you can do.

First, seal off any potential cracks or leaks around the exterior of your home. If you’ve got drafty doors or windows, replace the weather stripping to make sure you get an air-tight seal. These cracks and leaks are where cockroaches like to sneak in from the cold.

(Oh, and make sure your space stays clean and food is kept in proper containers. Roaches can sense sugars and proteins and they’re attracted to it. If you can store your food away safely, it’ll lessen your chance of getting roaches.)

Second, spray the exterior of your home with a protective spray like Ortho Home Defense. This will create a protective barrier that will take out any roaches that try to sneak into your home. Make sure to keep this barrier up, too. You’ll have to reapply every 8-12 weeks, or whatever the product instructs.

Third, if you’ve already got roaches inside your house, use traps like a roach motel. These traps have proteins and sugars that attract roaches, then trap them inside with gooey glue so they can’t escape. Once the trap is full, throw it in the trash (preferably outside your house).
