Do I have to sign a contract? Can I just do a one-time service?
We do offer a one-time service and also a one-year contract. Here is why you might not like the one-year agreement option:
You don’t want to be “locked in.” Why? Because when life happens you want freedom and flexibility.
What if you still have too many bugs!? You don’t want to pay for something that does not work!
You have heard horror stories about servicing headaches and scheduling nightmares. If I have problems then I want out!
A one-time service can be a great fit for some people. I will give you 4 examples of who a one-time service is good for.
If you like doing your own pest control but every few years it gets out of hand. Then a one-time is a great option! We can help get things back under control and you can maintain it for the next few years.
If you have regular bugs then you want a regular service—because you want to prevent problems. But if you rarely have bugs then a one time might be a better fit.
Certain bugs tend to be more of a one-time problem, and others are more of an ongoing issue.
Some people have more bugs but notice them less; and other people have less bugs but notice them more! If bugs bother you more than once per year then you might want regular maintenance. But if bugs rarely bother you, then a one time might be a better fit
If you are moving soon, then you don’t want to sign a one-year contract. But if you have bugs, then what do you do!? A one-time service!
You might want a one-time, If you want a regular service but don’t want to feel locked in. I have to explain this one a little bit.
Some people have been burned so many times. They just can’t risk being screwed again. And other people just really value flexibility, even if it means they pay more for that privilege.
Here is a quick story:
About 4 years ago I knocked on the door of a man who wanted pest control but could not get himself to try another company. He detailed 3 terrible experiences with 3 companies in a row.
I told him that over the years, we have helped dozens of customers regain faith in pest control companies.
They told me that we helped them regain their faith in pest control. And even, to a certain extent, regain their faith in humanity.
I even offered a special exception. I offered to let him sign up for service but cancel with no fee if it did not work out. But even that felt scary after what he had been through.
If you have had a similar experience, then you might want to pay for a one-time service. Even though you want a regular service. And then when it goes great you can sign up for regular maintenance.
In the end, they were hesitant to sign another contract, but they took the leap of faith and they were glad they did!
At LOCAL Bug Guy, we want you to have the best experience possible. Most people who call choose to do a one-year agreement. Depending on your situation, a one-time service might be a better fit.
